Riot Fest Rocked (For Old People), Welcome to The Tribe, Alamo, and Hurricane Helene Party Tonight!
Hey Tribe!
Happy Hurricane Helene Thirsty Rock-N-Roll Thursday! Man, that's a mouthful! Hurricane season is officially upon us and as the self-appointed "official sponsor" of hurricane parties everywhere, don't forget to stock up on your Metal Spirits!
In all seriousness, be smart out there, Tribe. And if you're in the direct path, this is going to be a big one, so get out the way!
Onwards...
It was a blast at Riot Fest in Chicago last Saturday. It was wet and muddy but somehow since the original Woodstock, rain and mud seem appropriate for big music festivals.
One thing that really bothered us though... Young people put down your fu**ing phones and dance, mosh, slide in the mud, make out, whatever! My God, do you have any life outside of your social media posts??? Your brain is there for a reason, it remembers stuff! Rant over, kind of.
After almost five years off, Tom Araya and his Slayer bandmates delivered the best show I've seen since the 90's and you could tell all of them were revved up to go!
But again, the only mosh pit was all 40+ year olds. Even this 50 years old mixed it up for a couple minutes, then was reminded that I may have some injuries, but I am still much larger than most Slayer fans. Sorry leather jacket, dude. :-)
In other news, we want to Welcome to The Tribe, The Alamo, here in Naples! Before you think we (and they) are crazy, NO, we are not partnering to have our booze at a gun range! The owners are simply having a Halloween bash at a separate location and we are going to be taking over their vodka and whiskey selection for the party. Metal Spirits is perfect for Halloween parties! More details to come but if you're in the area, mark your calendars for October 19th!
Lastly, tonight we will have our regular visit to Seed to Table for Rock-N-Roll Thursday, but tonight we have a special extended version with the addition of a Hurricane Party!
Be smart, obviously, but if you can swing it, stop on by! Hurricane Parties - they're a Florida tradition!
We love to welcome new folks to the Metal Spirits Tribe and we meet so many of you at Seed to Table. Last week, we met the lovely Kimberly and her daughter, Julianna. They were visiting from Sarasota and it was their maiden voyage at "The Seed". What an impressive pair! Nice to meet you ladies and we look forward to reconnecting in the Tampa area, and spreading the Metal Spirits Tribe up there!
That's it for this week, Tribe. Have a great rest of your week, a kick ass weekend, and don't pull any Florida Man crap with this storm!
Cheers!
